Lofft was founded with a deep understanding of South African aviation. Our founder comes from a fixed wing aviation background and has firsthand knowledge of how airspaces, regulations, and CAA compliance work in practice. Through close relationships with drone pilots across the country, we saw the same problems repeating: fragmented work, unreliable clients, and no proper system to connect the two sides of the industry.
We built Lofft to solve this. Most clients have no idea what an RPL is, what insurance a pilot should carry, or whether someone is actually allowed to fly commercially. They shouldn't have to. We verify all of that before a pilot ever goes live on the platform, so clients can focus entirely on getting their job done.
For pilots, we wanted to create a platform where qualified professionals can find real work, receive guaranteed payment, and build their reputation. Whether the job is real estate photography, agricultural surveys, security and surveillance, construction monitoring, or any of the many commercial applications drones serve today.
